Telephonics Receives Lockheed Martin STAR Supplier Award

FARMINGDALE, NY, 09/25/2009 -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] has presented Telephonics with its prestigious STAR Supplier Award for its exemplary performance and contribution to the success of Lockheed Martin's mission.

Lockheed Martin's STAR Supplier Award is only presented to suppliers who meet rigorous performance criteria. First established in 1999, this award is an effort to quantitatively measure supplier quality and to create a group of preferred suppliers.

To receive this honor and join the elite group of STAR Suppliers, Telephonics provided highly capable and reliable radar systems, communications systems, interim contractor support and performance-based logistics to Lockheed Martin for integration and maintenance of the U.S. Navy H-60 Helicopter Series including the SH-60B, SH-60F, HH-60H, MH-60R and MH-60S. The principal mission of these helicopters is to protect the fleet from submarines and surface vessels. Lockheed Martin in Owego, NY, was awarded a multi-year contract in 2007 to integrate the avionics and mission systems onto 139 MH-60R helicopters through 2013.

"Telephonics has maintained 30 months of on-time delivery with their radar systems," said Hershey Denson, Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain Management Programs at Lockheed Martin Systems Integration – Owego. "We truly value Telephonics' contribution to our business."

"Telephonics' radar and intercommunication systems are committed to serve Naval aviation with superior performance in providing the fleet with maximum system availability to perform their most critical missions," said Joseph J. Battaglia, President of Telephonics Corporation. "We are proud to support Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Navy and to humbly accept this prestigious award."
